My Quilling Art
Aum signifies the essence of the ultimate reality, consciousness or Atman. It symbolizes the Universe and the ultimate reality. It is the most important Hindu symbol.
Thirunamam represents the 'Sacred name of God'. The phrase Namam also represents the white clay found at the deeper layer of earth, which is used as the powder to wear a flame shaped mark. People wore this Namam, starting from the central point between the eyebrows, going straight up near the top edge of the forehead.
The flame shape represents Aanma Jyothi or Atman. Which in turn means that, Aatman is considered sacred and as the name of God. Zealous devotees smeared it on the exterior of the upper arms, over the chest and below the spinal cord area at the back.
When I got to know about Shankha Chakra Nama, decided to incorporate them in to my quilling art. Already finished with Shankha and Chakra, and this is the middle one in that family. It can kept in pooja room to enhance beauty.
The anthropomorphic form of Sudarshana can be traced from discoid weapons of ancient India to his esoteric multi-armed images in the medieval period in which the Chakra served the supreme deity (Vishnu) as his faithful attendants. While the two-armed Chakra-Purusha was humanistic, the medieval multi-armed Sudarshana was speculatively regarded as an impersonal manifestation of destructive forces in the universe; that, in its final aspect, combined the flaming weapon and the wheel of time which destroys the universe. The Chakra finds mention in the Rigveda as a symbol of Vishnu, and as the wheel of time, and in the Itihasas and Puranas. In the Mahabharatha, Krishna, identified with Vishnu, uses it as a weapon.
I depicted this in my quilling art. Found this element interesting to make with paper craft. It can be gifted on auspicious occasions, and to be framed for keeping in pooja room for good luck. They say by seeing and keeping things like this gives positive vibes. It took me about 18 hours non stop to complete.
The Shankha or conch of the Hindu god Vishnu. As per the Harivamsa, Krishna, the avatar of Vishnu, is described as possessing a conch shell called Panchajanya, one of his four attributes together with the mace Kaumodaki, the disc-like weapon Sudarshana Chakra and a lotus flower.
Conch blowing can provide a great exercise for, urinary tract, bladder, lower abdomen, diaphragm, chest and neck muscles. You exercise the rectal muscles in the process of blowing a shankh thus strengthening the rectal muscles and preventing many problems which occur due to the gradual weakening of the rectal muscles.
In this way, the conch kept in worship brings happiness and good luck to the house.
As a quilling artist, I took inspiration from this and attempted to showcase my quilling skills to do with it. It can be kept in pooja room or can be gifted to some, wishing them to have success.

Months before, I was suffering like anything with my life problems. I don't know actually, how I found this quilling art form. Started making on egg shell first. Going on and on. It took three days time to fill with colored paper coils with different shapes, and it ate literally 1 dozen A4 sheets. After all, I decided to stop at one point. Amazed. Got the such a tiny little piece of art. In this process I forgot all scary things had peaceful time with my self. I found joy in doing that. Obsessed. Fall in love.
Since 6 months, I keep doing this with passion without time limitation, and learnt different techniques and giving thought to it.
